It's the big day to drop Syd off to camp. We ran around gathering the last minute things and got her all packed up and into the car. It's kind of a cloudy rainy day, but Syd is smiling and so excited you can't help but be excited with her. That's the way my Syd is. Her camp is in Bristol, which doesn't take all that long to get to. The parking is at the bottom of a hill on very wet grass and we have to walk up a hill to get to the main area. Tatum's flip flops keep falling off in the wet grass, ugh.
We get Sydney all checked in and make our way to her cabin "Long House".
She meets her counselors and a few of the girls that are already there. This part is fun because the counselors have made up names and the kids don't find out their real names until the end of the week. We help her make her bed and say goodbye. Tate gives her a big squeeze and we are on our way with me giving that last look back.
We get back in the car and look back at our smiling Tatum and realize we only have one child now for a whole week. hmmmm. Let's go to Tom Wahls in Avon for ice cream. So we do just that. Then we drive the scenic route home through some small towns and come across a playground the Tatum points out in Caledonia and we stop and let her play there for a bit.
Pretty much the rest of the week is just like that. She gets all of her toys to herself, the attention, the bedtime rituals, and she is loving it!
