Boston Children's Museum (June 30th)

Decided to take the subway into Boston again since we knew where the parking garage was. We were going to the Boston Children's Museum. Since we were early we went to this really neat bagel shop across the street, Finagle a Bagel. This wasn't just any ol' Bagel Shop. When you picked your bagel and said you wanted it toasted, they plunked it down a conveyor belt in front of the glass that customers stand behind. The bagel starts to travel nicely down the metal belt until it hits the rotating buzzsaw where it is sliced with such speed it is flung down the rest of the line and into a toaster. If you blink, you miss it. Dave was getting napkins and missed it the first time and three of us start yelling for him to come over and watch the next one like the bunch of tourists that we are. We then pick a table right next to the counter so we can continue to watch this bagel buzzsaw slicing action while we ate our snack while we wait for the museum to open.

We head over to the museum and get our map and start in the bubble room. The kids had a blast getting all soapy and making huge bubbles. There was even a spot to stand in a giant bubble and pull it up around you. We explored every room from the ball room to Arthur's area.

In the front room, there was a huge climber with netting all around it. Sydney and Tatum climbed in that for a bit. You can See Sydney in the middle of it in the blue shirt.

We explored the wind area, the wood shop, and painted with water colors in the art studio.

Then it was time for lunch. We walked down the boardwalk for a little bit and back inside for more fun. The construction zone was next.

One of the areas of the museum was a whole city of Boston. There was a beauty salon where Dave and I got our hair done, a shopping market, a parade, a park, and on and on.

One of the last areas that we visited in the museum was a Japanese house. This was really cool. You had to take your shoes off to walk in. There was a kitchen, living area, bathroom, and garden.

After the museum we walked back to Faneuil Hall. We watched more street performers and shopped a bit. Had dinner at the Cheers restaurant down there. Took the subway back early so the kids could FINALLY go swimming in the hotel pool before we would have to leave the next day. They kept asking, but we kept getting back after the pool closed each night.
