Snow Days is an afternoon of sledding, wagon rides, snowmobile rides, snow sculpture contest, face painting, snacks, coloring contest, crafts, and I'm sure that I am forgetting something. The kids love it!!! We get all bundled up, grab our sleds, go to the town hall.
We decided the first thing we wanted to do was ride the wagon ride. The nice gentleman drives the tractor down one of the streets close to the town hall and we watch a few of the neighborhood dogs go crazy. You would think by the 20th time that wagon went by the dogs would know what to expect, but nope, they are just as surprised this time. Oh my goodness. It's a wagon full of people. I should now bark at it. Oh good it's gone now. I scared it away. Oh, here comes a wagon full of people. I should now bark at it....you get my point.

After the wagon ride, Tatum wants to go sledding. Dave takes her on the man-made hill of snow. While Tatum is sledding Syd decides she wants to ride the snowmobiles.

We make our way over and there are about 6-10 snowmobiles from the Hilton club and they are giving out rides. They put a helmet on her and ask her if she likes to go really fast or slow. She says fast and off she went. They start off pretty fast and go flying over a hill/bump. She came back from her ride and hopped on anther snowmobile.

Tatum has now decided that she wants to go on the snowmobiles and is getting a helmet on. She walks over and picks her snowmobile out by color - a red one to match her helmet.

Off she goes. She comes back, hops off and asks to go again. The nice guys running the show here, says of course, pick one out. So she picks a different one. This happens two more times before we say let's go.

While Tate was finishing up her ride, Syd was starting her snow sculpture. We made our way over and helped her finish up the whale and sprayed it blue. Syd did a great job and under pressure considering there was a time crunch. We didn't realize how soon the judging would be so we were trying to hurry as fast as we could.

Now it was time to go inside for popcorn and hot chocolate. The girls colored a picture for a coloring contest and made a craft. They also guessed how many snowballs (marshmallows) were in the container.
Tatum won the coloring contest for her age group and was so excited. There was a whole table full of prizes - sleds, books, crayons, etc. She looks at all of the prizes and picks out a very pretty purple mug with packets of hot chocolate inside, walks back to table with the biggest smile on her face, and holds it tight. Everyone keeps saying congratulations to her as we are walking around and leaving. We are all tired from our fresh air so we decided not to make dinner. Instead, we decided that it was better to get french fries and chocolate milk shakes, while wearing all of our snow gear at a local restaurant. It was a good day.
