bowling anyone?

We drive by a bowling alley every day on the way to drop Sydney off at her rec program before she goes to school. Tatum and I then drive by it again on our way to drop her off at daycare. This happens again in reverse at the end of every day. Some days Tatum points to the building and asks about it and when do we think we can go. Other times she mentions that there are a lot of cars in parking lot. Sydney has been bowling before with a birthday party and with school so she talks about it.
So, taking the not so subtle hints from the kids, and looking for something fun to do one Saturday.....we took them bowling and they had a blast. We did too!! Neither Dave or I know how to keep score so it was really helpful that the bowling alley has those automatic score thingys (very technical name I call them). First we got our super cool bowling shoes and then picked out the balls. We order pizza and sodas. Next it was on to figuring out how to enter our names into the automatic score thingy. We had two lanes - one with bumpers and one without. Tatum and I bowled with bumpers and boy do I like bumpers. I managed to get a spare with the bumper's help. The bumper is straight all the way down and then kicks out so it sends the bowling ball towards the middle of the pins. Good stuff. It's amazing how a ball going slower than an average turtle can knock down so many pins.

Tatum's ball was really really bright orange!!

Tatum and her butt shot....

After bowling for a bit, our pizza was ready so we took a break and ate. Then it was back to bowling. This time it was Dave, Mom, and I on the lane without bumpers. I think the automatic scoring thingy was broken....or Dave was cheating....hmmmm.
