Leaving the Children with their Father......

Dave offers to take the kids outside while I get some stuff done inside. He says that he has plenty to do outside and the kids can help them. They both jump at the chance to flee from the house. Tatum and Syd hurry to get dressed and Dave, of course, leaves the house. This is already looking like I'm on my way to getting lots of stuff done. First I need to find the hats and gloves. Next I have to help Tatum get her sleeves just right inside her coat. Then it's making sure they both go to the bathroom. Now it's time to get their boots on. At this point Dave opens the door and yells in at the girls "are you guys coming out?". Men.
Now Tatum looks at me like I'm taking too long and that I really need to hurry this along. Seriously? Oh, can't forget the all important water bottle in case she gets thirsty. Whew. Now it's time to go outside. I wave goodbye and then do the mom happy dance because I finally have the house to myself - well myself and Snickerdoodle who has found herself the perfect patch of sun to take a nice afternoon nap in.
It's been about an hour when Dave comes to the door and says "oh, you have got to see this. Syd is trying to help Tatum up into the tree." This is what I go out and see.

There is Sydney holding a hoola hoop attached to a blue jump rope (kind of hard to see). The jump rope is attached to a seat that is upside down and Tatum inside of it. Syd is pulling it up. I'm guessing they must have tried it with the booster seat first because I saw it sitting next to Tate on the ground. None of these worked very well.
.....so Dad put her in the tree. Happy Tatum.

I asked Dave how they managed to do this because he looked so surprised. He claims they must have done this pretty quickly when he was working on something. Yes, nothing gets by him.

This picture was the next day when they went for a ride.
