Springdale Farm Harvest Fest

Took the kiddos and my mom and dad to Springdale Farm's Harvest Fest. Had a great time and they had so much to do there. It started at 10 and we originally thought we would only be there for a few hours at the most. We ended up staying until the very end.
When we first got there, Syd got her face painted and Tatum got a tattoo on her arm. See the goose right behind them. Every time we tried to get closer to it to get a picture of the girls with it, he or she (?) would put it's head down in its feathers. Shy little guy.

Time for Syd to pretend to milk the wooden cow.

Next to the petting zoo area. I didn't notice at the time, but look how funny Tatum's face is. It's Fred the chicken. My dad kept saying how tasty they all looked. ha ha ha.

There was a climbing area for the kids on some bales of hay. Get it??? The goats were on the hay too.

Tatum got to play on a tractor in the petting zoo area.

Down the hill, two ladies were making stone soup and it was very yummy. There was also another table with popcorn and banana boats - yum!!!!

Here is the milking station and this was really interesting. Totally automated. The cows go in by themselves and the machine uses little lasers to sense where her "stuff" is and hooks up and milks her. It is the coolest thing to watch. A little weird at first, but so interesting.

There was a baby bull born the night before which just so happened to be Dad's birthday too. So now Dad and the little bull have the same birthday...oh how sweet.

Here's my handsome man.

There was a craft/project tent. Tatum decided to ride the horses before stopping to do the craft.

Dave and Dad have been stickered by Tatum, actually we all had been stickered by Tatum. If you have been anywhere with Tatum and there are stickers around.....you know what I am talking about. She LOVES LOVES LOVES stickers!!!!

Here we are making those pine cone with peanut butter and bird seed bird feeders & these really neat chia pets with grass seed. The chia pets are actually growing grass seed hair on my counter.

Now for the wagon ride around the farm and through the dairy barn.

Tatum peeking in on the goats.

Look at Dave, all tired out from his day at Springdale Farm. (The kids were on the playground.) Poor guy just couldn't keep his eyes open any longer from his big day at the farm :)
