Creation Fest 2010

We took the kids to Creation Fest in Pennsylvania. This was a really really really fun time and what family friendly environment to be in. There were 70,000 people just like us at this Christian Music Fest. We got there on Wednesday after a few hours of driving from NY to PA. The road back to the farm where the festival is held is out in the middle of farmland and mountains.

.

Getting excited because we are almost there. She is holding little plastic flag from when we stopped at Walmart about an hour before. We met a very interesting lady walking around Walmart, dressed like a clown, handing out stickers, and plastic flags. The best part - She did not work there. She was just this happy lady spreading her 4th of July joy. Both girls were a bit in awe of her. Wish I had my camera at that moment :-)

We made it!!

Setting up camp.

playing Sorry while waiting for dinner. Oh and there was no electricity.

One of the many decorated campers/vehicles.

After dinner we walked over to the stage area which is on a GIANT hill.

There were many different fields of camping so at first it was hard to gauge just how many people were there. Oh my goodness....we knew there were a lot of people there, but this was our first glimpse at just how many.

The first night we saw the David Crowder Band and Switchfoot.
Went back and had a small campfire to warm up. You could see your breath at night - it was very cold!!! But the sky was amazing, so clear and you could see every star.

The next day we slept in, ate breakfast, took showers, and then made our way over to the arts and crafts area for the kiddos.

Face painting.

Later that evening we went back to the stage area and listened to Ron Luce. Great speaker. While we were waiting for the music to start, we took a few pictures.

Then we got to see the Newsboys and Casting Crowns. Great shows and the kids loved it.

started getting cold again and we had to huddle under blankets.

The next day, it was back to the arts and crafts area. We took the shuttle up the giant hill this time.

That evening we went to see Louie Giglio speak. Another excellent speaker.
Then it was time for Chris Tomlin and TobyMac.
Funny story - In the middle of the Chris Tomlin concert, Tatum looks up at me and says "I have to go potty." ugh. So I take her up to the top of the hill to the huge line of port-a-potties. We go in one and the thing is literally vibrating with the music from the concert. Tatum is chatting away while doing her business and I'm standing in that extremely cramped space in front of her trying not to touch ANYTHING. It is really really warm in there and the sweat is just dripping off of us. She is happily talking away about our day and what we are going to do tomorrow. I tell her to hurry things up because we are at a concert and she looks up with the biggest smile on her face and tells me that I am the best mommy in the whole world. oh my goodness. What could be more endearing than that moment. Ok, maybe not the port-a-potty part:-)

Tatum just couldn't keep her eyes open any longer. She had partied too hard:-)

Back to the camper for some smores.
It's time to pack up and go home. Still sound asleep from the late night before. What a good time.

Here are few short videos from the shows.

In the middle of TobyMac's show, he broke into the song "Pants on the Ground"
