Camping Plans Washed Away

I'm not sure if anyone has realized this, but it has rained and rained and rained some more during this summer so far. We had plans to go camping and it rained all day and the forecast said rain all evening and all weekend. Dave and contemplated all day what to do. We finally cam to the decision to stay back and camp at home. The thought of three wet dogs and two wet kids stuck inside a pop-up camper.

We first started out with dinner in the garage while watching it rain and thunder. After dinner, the kids played and washed my car in the pouring rain. Mom, Dad, Dave, and I played some Farkle. I won!! The girls came in from the rain and colored.

Snack time: We still made the Jiffy Pop.

To make it more like camping we set up tents in the living room.

I slept next to Syd in her tent.

Tatum's tent.

Dave slept on the couch.

Snickerdoodle couldn't figure out what was going on. She tried climbing up the tents a few times and Tatum was not happy about that. Then she would hide in the tents. Tucker and Van Gogh would go looking for her and to their surprise out pops a paw to swat them. They were off and running away, only to come back and do the same thing every few minutes. Didn't seem to learn their lesson. Here she is looking all spooky and green eyed.

We went to the movies on Saturday and out for pizza. There is a movie theater in Henrietta that is only 2.00 for movies that are not at the main movie theaters any longer, but they aren't on DVD yet either. We saw Monsters vs. Aliens. Had a bonfire that night and got to roast marshmallows and make s'mores.

Sunday we packed up and went to Godfrey's Pond. First we stopped and played tennis down the road from our house. We all have tennis rackets now and it is a lot of fun. I'm not convinced that Dave is teaching me the rules correctly, because somehow he keeps winning...hmmmm. Or maybe I just need a bit more practice.
Had a nice picnic lunch at Godfrey's. Went on a hike, played some basketball, and fished, and made banana boats with chocolate on the grill. yum.

Tatum patiently waiting for her worm.

The boys were pretty tired by this point. Tucker was sound asleep. Tucker was all tuckered out...ha ha ha.

Sydney taking off her fish.

My big catch of the day!!!

We went home only because it was getting dark. We were very tired from our busy weekend.
